The RBR F6 PASGT HELMET was designed based on the widely adopted Personal Armor System Ground Troop (PASGT helmet used by the U.S. Military. This helmet is structured using RBR's unique processing techniques to provide enhanced shell protection, at lower weight, with improved comfort. It is a general-purpose, full-coverage helmet for the modern Combat Soldier or Law Enforcement Officer in an enhanced ballistic armor resin matrix. The level of protection in RBR helmets exceeds standard issue U.S. Military helmets designed for fragmentation protection only. RBR's unique process technology utilizes the excellent performance of ARAMID Kevlar bound in a thermoplastic resin matrix. This is the key to achieving an excellent performance to weight ratio. The RBR F6 PASGT Helmet can be worn for extensive periods of time, even in adverse conditions, with superior comfort.
RBR Ballistic Helmets are tested at H.P. White Laboratory at Level IIIA. Helmets are tested versus penetration and back face deformation of Level IIIA 9mm and .44 Magnum ammunitions, to the HP White Helmet Test Procedure (HPW-TP-0401.01B). Additionally, this test requires that one of each of the above rounds must impact directly on a suspension system fastener resulting in zero penetration. The entire line of helmets from RBR Tactical, have been further tested to MIL_STD 662E for fragmentation performance. All of the RBR Helmets maintain V-50 performance at over 2100 feet per second, surpassing the Mil Spec of 2000 feet per second. RBR Test Results are available upon request.
Testing is Critical to Performance! Commonly found misconceptions include NIJ Certified IIIA helmets. The NIJ Certification for helmets only provides for testing up to level II, and does not measure back face deformation. Likewise, Level IIIA Testing to NIJ Standard 0108.01 for Ballistic Material is for testing flat armor panels only, and specifically excludes helmets from being tested to this standard. RBR is confident that the HP White Helmet Test Procedure is the most comprehensive helmet test standard currently available. Helmets that cannot meet the requirements of this Level IIIA test should be considered substandard.
