The Protective Insert is designed for the protective storage of sensitive items such as an AN/PVS-14. It's padded with closed cell foam and has a grommet at the top for lanyard tie off. The protective insert is shown at the bottom of the screen inside the Canteen/General Purpose Pouch, which is also available.
